Some Ways to Slow Down Time

Time is time but how you perceive it can be vastly different depending on the dangerousness of the situation, how novel the situation is, and what emotion you are experiencing. For example; whether you are bored or busy, when you are anxious, lonely, or in pain, time seems to show down. Time accelerates when you engage in activities that create positive emotions such as a conversation with a good friend or you are engrossed in music or reading a novel.

What are some strategies for slowing down time? You can make certain adjustments to you daily and regular behavior which can change your sense of retrospective time. The more you push yourself out of your comfort zone and create different and interesting experiences, the denser your memories and the slower the months and years seem to pass.

What are some ways to slow down time? One such strategy involves getting out of autopilot mode. Performing the same routines every day may feel comforting but it means learning and awareness aren’t taking place, and there will be no our standing memories to retrieve. Even minor changes can shake up your neural networks and enhance your perception of your experiences. For example driving a different way home from work for a month, wearing your watch on your opposite wrist for a week, and changing up your exercise routine.

In my next blog I will add more strategies for slowing down your perception of time. If you are curious about hypnosis and/or have questions about ways to slow down time, please contact me at holtadams2002@yahoo.com or call at 361.442.9590.
