Hi All! I have big news as I will be reopening my practice for inperson visits on April 1! You will be required to wear a mask to enter the building and I may take your temperature but in my office you may remove your mask. I will have hand sanitizer but I will not be able to keep 6 feet away as I am doing hypnosis. Please call or email for an appointment.
Now I will move on to Step Four in Managing Big Changes in your life: Step Four is about seeking support from others. Aid from others is a powerful tool to help with life transitions. Most of us are not very good at seeking out the right type of person for what we need.
Many people crave comfort during times of transition and welcome supportive feedback such as ” You can do it” or ” I love you.” Some folks need a nudge in the right direction such as “I love you but you need to try this.” And a smaller percentage want a proverbial kick in the backside. They yearn for someone to say, “Get over yourself; you’ve had your pity party, now get back to work.” Folks may want different forms of support from different people such as a kick in the rear from a mentor or loving support from a spouse. The problem is that we often go to the wrong people for the type of support we need. They give us what they think we need or what they would want if they were in our situation. This can leave us feeling frustrated and hesitant to seek outside support.
What is the solution? We need to tell people what kind of support we need and what we don’t want or seek out specifically people who can give us the support we need. Life coaches are one avenue to get the support you need.
